Drunken Blog Post

The concept of community is bullshit. It is a collective construct that we use to conceptualize, compartmentalize, and impose our personal investments with internally perceived interconnections.

Fundamentally the concept of community is fragile and fraudulent. Bosnia and Rwanda are a couple of recent examples.

We think we communicate with each other because we un-thinkingly believe that other people think the way we do. Actual understanding between individuals is extremely rare, if not completely impossible, because no one person experiences/perceives/creates 'reality' in quite the same way as any other human does. We live with the practical fallacy that we can empathize and comprehend others in order to execute the essential interpersonal interactions that constitute continuing human culture (and thus, presumably, continued existence). Really we are constantly projecting our own personality, intentionality, and identity upon every interactional encounter everyday.
